CLOSEWhat is the process?
Each wooden frame is individually made by hand in our workshop to your size specifications*, hand painted and sealed. Your images uploaded to the Fluidframe website are then checked for image quality and any editing requests, such as cropping or converting to black and white are carried out. At this stage photographic borders (black or white) are added to the image if requested. Images are then output as prints onto high quality lustre photographic paper.
The photographic print or supplied artwork is then tissue mounted onto its wooden frame. Clear resin is then hand poured onto the surface of the image. Each layer of resin is inspected to ensure the highest quality finish. The product is then left to cure and harden over 10 days. Because each resin frame is handmade, we produce a stunning finish that’s second to none.
CLOSECan you resin frame posters or paintings?
We can resin frame images, posters, artwork and original paintings including your children’s! Because our frames are made by hand we can resin almost any size. Contact us to discuss your requirements.
CLOSEWhat about custom frames and montages?
Yes, custom sizes are available. You are not restricted to standard sizes (or shapes) the way you may be using acrylic or glass face mounting. You can also select to have a photographic border added to your uploaded image.
We also create montages for you, telling the story of a memorable event such as a party, birth of a child or a wedding. Once you’ve supplied your images, we can create a visual storyboard and output a final print once you’ve approved the montage layout. Resin montages make a thoughtful and unique gift for someone. Contact us to discuss your requirements.
CLOSEWhat are mini photo blocks?
Mini photo blocks are available in 3 sizes (10 x 10 cm; 15 x 10 cm; 30 x 20 cm) using wood hand cut to size and the resin process. The images are output onto high quality lustre photographic paper and you have the choice of grained plywood or pine. Photo blocks are a great way to showcase multiple images or one or two can be free standing on a mantelpiece or desk.
CLOSEHow do I get my images to Fluidframe?
Upload your images via this website. Email us your multiple images if you require a montage or specific cropping or colour conversion to black and white. Please courier any purchased artwork or original paintings using a trackable delivery method as we cannot be held responsible for these deliveries. If you have a large format file, again please feel free to call us to discuss your requirements. JPEGS are recommended.
CLOSEEach piece is handcrafted, will it be perfect?
As each piece is handcrafted and we are dealing with a chemical reaction in a liquid there is always the slight chance of very minor imperfections in the finished article. Rest assured though the utmost care is taken over each piece and as multiple layers of resin are used to give the depth if we consider a finished piece not quite good enough we will apply another layer of resin.
CLOSEHow is the final frame (s) supplied to me?
Professional wall mountings are attached to the rear of the wooden frame prior to despatch (exc. mini photo blocks). Each resin frame is carefully packed to ensure it arrives in immaculate condition at your door. We use reputable couriers firm to ensure your purchase arrives on time, intact and cost efficiently. Fluidframe can recommend companies to hang your artwork in the Sydney area.
Allow 21-28 days from the date of your order (via our website) to ensure complete curing of the resin. Please allow an additional 4 working days if we are creating a bespoke, montage resin frame or if you’re sending your original artwork, poster or painting to us. Express orders will be considered so please contact us.
CLOSEHow do I pay and cancellation policy
We accept direct debits – and PayPal (you can pay using MasterCard or Visa credit cards via the PayPal secure portal). Cancellations after monies have been received and work has started, will incur a cost equal to 50% of the total cost excluding delivery
CLOSEHow do I care for the finished product?
Cured resin has a very hard, very glossy finish. The best way to keep it looking pristine is with a small amount of Windex and gently polishing it with a soft cloth. As with all pictures avoid exposing them to direct sunlight or UV light.
